Trading Room

The Trading Room featuring John Howell is going from strength to strength...but don't just take our word for it...we are now providing a summary of our member's actual trades. These are not our trades but trades that have been identified in the Trading Room by John and members. If you were online at the time you could have put on the same trades.

Here is a recent trade by one of our members:

Who can question the success of the trading room? You really need to join the happy bunch to get the benefit of John’s teaching and (dare I say) wisdom.

Today’s successful trade was on BHP, long CFD with an average profit of $1.27 or 393%

Now anybody has to be happy with that.

John and his Trading Room are tops.

Trading Diary

Here's a brief summary of the results achieved for the Planet Wealth strategies during the month of October 2008. If you have any questions about the results, how to signup or anything at all really... email our customer service team at customerservice@planetwealth.com.au

Please take the time to look at the videos on the left hand side for some more insight into our trading during October.

Renting AU Shares

The old portfolio was liquidated in October and we will fill our portfolio using the new 'Protected' Renting AU Shares strategy from 1 November. Reporting will begin next month with those new trades. Since we now have protection through the purchase of Put options we have been able to reduce our trading bank to A$70,000, while still keeping the same 'purchasing power'. This means the minimum for AutoTrader has been reduced to just $35,000, making this great strategy more accessible to everyone!

As an example of how this strategy now works on Monday 3rd November we placed four trades that yielded A$6,900 with an average capital protection of 80%.

Renting US Stocks

This is the first month of trading the new 'Protected' Renting US Stocks strategy. Like Renting AU Shares we have been able to reduce our trading bank. We are now using US$24,000 (it was US$40,000) and now means you can join AutoTrader and copy our trades with as little as US$12,000.

When you think about the S&P 500 reducing by 20% in the month of October having our portfolio protected is essential for long term success.

Protected Equity

We currently have four trades in our new Protected Equity portfolio with room for a few more when the opportunities present themselves. We haven't closed out any trades to date so don't have a return figure as yet. However, please refer to the detailed spreadsheet results and you can see how purchasing additional protection has offset the purchase price of the Put options.  In some cases this means we have already taken a profit, but we still hold the shares (fully protected).  Any recovery in the share price will therefore be money straight into our pockets! You can read about how you can implement this strategy in the Protected Equity E-Book.

Credit Spreads

Well as you would know October was another shocker of a month on the market, with the AllOrds falling by 14%. We were conscious of the volatility due to events in the US and globally, so when we put on the three trades for expiry in October we also hedged our positions via purchasing Put options in the ASX 200.  The profit from that hedge trade offset the losses from 2 trades (as we expected it might be).  The third trade was profitable, but has been rolled out to the following month for an extra $2,000 in premium - with no extra risk.
